Amelia Houlihan

Amelia Houlihan grew up in the Atlanta area and obtained most of her early training from Sawnee School of Ballet under the direction of Joan Kall Stewart. While at SSB she had the opportunity to perform in the Nutcracker as well as Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and various Broadway numbers. She completed her BA in Dance Performance and Choreography alongside a business minor and adjunct studies in exercise science at the University of South Carolina. While there, she had the privilege of working with artists such as Brian Arias, Shawn Boyle, Stacey Calvert, Thaddeus Davis, Tanya Wideman-Davis, and Addison Ector in various choreographic works throughout her career. She has also had the opportunity to perform a number of Balanchine ballets such as Stars and Stripes, Brahms-Schoenberg, Walpurgisnacht, and Serenade. Amelia started teaching in college and realized she loved working with dancers to help foster artistic minds and bodies. After college, she returned to the Atlanta area and obtained her License in Massage Therapy. She now works at Alliance Sports Medicine and is passionate about educating both her dancers and clients on the importance of maintaining healthy, strong bodies. Amelia is thrilled to be on staff at Still Pointe for another year to continue helping dancers grow and thrive both in and outside the studio!
